Silver Tussah Silk is a luxurious addition to your soap, said to give a silky feeling. Use a small pinch, up to a cotton ball sized amount, added to the water either before adding lye or to the hot lye water to dissolve the silk. In cold process soap it’s best to strain any undissolved particles. This is available in 1 ounce amounts.

Love love love this additive. It is in every bar I make. A little goes a long way and adds such a nice silky hand feel and I have noticed my batchea unmold more cleanly since I started adding it. I use roughly a cotton ball sized amount per pound of oils so one bag does about 25lbs of oils for me. A great and inexpensive luxury addition.
